Provides high quality medication management services to clients while working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Position requires strong assessment, treating and managing the mental health needs of our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to assess client's mental health conditions.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical assessment, history, and client input.
  • Assess client for suicide and other self-harm.
  • Assist in managing psychiatric crises, providing support to patients in crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with emergency services as needed for patient safety.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring their efficacy and side effects.
  • Educate clients about medication compliance and potential risks.
  • Administer evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or dialectical-behavior therapy, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to coordinate client care.
  • Provide client education on mental health conditions, medication management, coping strategies, and wellness.
  • Utilize CFS's Electronic Health Record and all web-based programs which would include prescribing medication.
  • Complete the necessary prior authorization paperwork for insurance companies.
  • Complete lab orders.
  • Complete external paperwork as needed for the client's care, such as FMLA, referral, disability and etc.
  • Participate in networking efforts and community engagement.
  • Seeks out supervision and case consultation as needed.
  • Maintain professional liability coverage throughout employment.
  • Address any concerns or questions patients may have regarding their treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Submit billing and coding information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in psychiatric care, treatments, and best practices.
  • Take and record vital signs; blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, weight and height as needed.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through the ANCC

Experience:

  • Two years of experience as a PMHNP-BC in outpatient psychiatric setting(s) required.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations and a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including but not limited to mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and ADHD.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of medication management and prescribing psychotropic medications.
  • Working experience in various evidence-based psychotherapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing
  • Familiarity with EHR systems to maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations, including those related to the prescription of controlled substances and compliance with healthcare laws and policies.
